Mercedes-Benz reveals the updated G Class for 2012 with two new AMG models – the V8 Mercedes G 63 AMG and V12 Mercedes G 65 AMG. The Mercedes G Class may have been around since dinosaurs walked the planet, but Mercedes don’t want to let it go and with every new tweak they make the G Class gets even more desirable. Which defies logic.

The world’s two biggest luxury goods firms – including the conglomerate behind brands like Moet and Louis Vuitton – are locked in a battle to buy Aston Martin from cash-starved Ford. Ford announced today that the British sports car manufacturer would be sold and CAR has learned that Swiss-based Richemont and the French holding company LVMH have emerged as most likely to take on Aston despite having no previous experience in the car industry. Ford desperately needs to tap into the potential $700m-$1bn the sale of Aston could generate and hopes to finalise a deal by the end of the year.
Lexus has revealed its new LS model range, consisting of the LS 460, LS 600h and, for the first time ever, an F Sport version of its flagship model. The new LS is the latest development of Lexus' model range, seeing more than 3,000 changes made to the current LS, responding to customer feedback throughout its development. The inverted trapezoidal upper grille and slanted lower grille - first seen on the GS sedan - are integrated into one element.
